We are doing our best to make migrating off of PubPub and to other platforms as easy as possible for existing PubPub Communities. Please read more about our Community Export Tool to learn about how to get your content off of PubPub.
The priorities and features that drew you to PubPub will likely inform how you assess and decide on your next host or platform partner. For example, some features on PubPub, such as connections and tags, do not translate cleanly into another environment. And some platforms support only PDF and/or static final outputs. Others have robust support for interactivity but little administrative/content management tooling. You can learn more about other publishing platforms through resources like IOI's Infra Finder, Simon Fraser University's Mind the Gap survey, and our article “Is PubPub Right For You?” Platforms and tools that have come up in some of our conversations thus far include OJS, Janeway, Curvenote, Ghost, Wordpress, and DeSci.
We have heard from some partners that they'd like to speak to other PubPub users to learn more about where they are migrating and how they're making this decision. To facilitate these connections and conversations, we have created a discussion in our GitHub forum and encourage everyone to use it! Please post your questions, ideas, and suggestions on the topic of migration here.
